Dis-Crime-Nation

In this post, I am going to talk about an interesting concept for social sciences, a problematic and controversial concept because the globalization has allowed the international integration from the interchange of a lot of points of view around the world. I'll talk about discrimination.

Obviously, the people around the world do not always agree –probably, they will never come to an agreement to get one opinion and to make the same decisions-. Due to the variety of cultures, the variety in the way people solve problems depends on the particular visions about how they do things (a global world, a democratic world seems like an utopia). This could be the principal reason because people discriminate.

For that reason, when we think about the topic of “discrimination” we always think about what we need to do to stop it. We can’t always have the same thoughts, but we could try not to discriminate other people points of view. This is an important mission for the educational system, where the people should learn to listen and respect each others opinions.

We discriminate when we don’t listen to others; we discriminate when we exclude another people because of their age, sex, religions, ethnicity, social and economic status. We have to begin to accept diversity, we can’t continue discriminating something because that “something” doesn’t agree with our particular visions, we have to teach values like tolerance, respect and solidarity.

I’m always been functionally integrated in this society, practically I’ve never felt discriminated but I have known people that had been discriminated and I sorrow about that, it’s a shame that people keep doing this practises… I think that this had to stop now, for a solidarity and tolerant world!

Those are principally my ideas,
thanks for reading,

Santiago
